Is there an Aux Input Converter for the '06 Explorer with Audiophile 6 CD/MP3 in dash headunit? It has the AUX button on the front. There is no SAT button and the car does not have a Rear Seat Entertainment unit in it. I want to connect a Sirrius Stilletto to the AUX input and power it through the cradle. I've tried the XM5-FRD04. The headunit recognizes the input and displays DVD and AUX when you toggle through the available media. However, when you select either DVD or AUX, it plays the Sirrius broadcast for about 5 seconds and then the radio switches back to FM. It will not stay on the DVD or AUX selection. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Right now, there is no interface that will work with the '06-'07 Explorer. Ford has made a change in most of their '07 radios that causes all interfaces to work for a few seconds and then cut out, like you experienced with the XM5-FRD04. P.I.E. is working on a firmware fix for their Ford interfaces that will allow the devices to work in the '07 Ford radios. Their anticipated release date is somewhere in the 3 to 4 week range. Logjam Electronics will post the release of the firmware upgrade on their website as soon as it is available.
UPDATE (02/03/08) - There still isn't any interface available for the '06-'07 Explorer. |
