Guidelines
Descriptive Topic Subject
When starting a new topic, please give a little thought to coming up with a meaningful and descriptive subject, especially if you are looking for help or an answer to a question. With a descriptive topic subject, you will increase the likelihood that interested parties will open your topic. And, in the case of a question, you will more likely get a timely, knowledgeable answer.

Provide Year, make and Model of Vehicle
In addition to entering a meaningful, descriptive subject when starting a new question or technical support topic, please provide specifics in the post itself. Minimum information required for forming a proper answer to your tech question is the year, the make, and the model of your vehicle. This helps the people who want to help you, but will also greatly increase the likelihood that you will get an accurate answer in a timely manner.

Staying On Topic
We like to have fun in the LogjamForum, but not at the expense of getting people's questions answered. So, staying on topic is important. As long as the original poster's question is answered in a timely fashion, some straying off topic will be tolerated. But it will always be discouraged if it comes at the expense of helping each other and getting questions answered and problems solved.

Search the Forums
We ask that before posting a question or problem, please use the search feature in the forums to see if your question has been answered or your problem has been solved before. Again, this helps the Moderators a great deal. Since they all strive to insure that no one's question in the forums goes unanswered, answering your own question, if possible, will save them time (and typing!). So do a little work up front and try to answer your question yourself as this is a huge help and is much appreciated.

Post in the Appropriate Forum
If you are starting a new topic, please give some thought to which forum your topic logically belongs before posting it. In particular, if your topic is brand-specific or device-specific, please do not post it in the general topic at the top of the forums list - it is intended for just that, general topics that do not fit in any of the other topics. Before posting a new topic in the "General" forum, please be sure it would not be more appropriate in one of the "Technical Support", "Customer Service" or other more specific forums.

Share Your Experience
If you have been helped by another LogjamForum user, share the experience by reaching out and answering someone else's questions when you can! That's what the LogjamForum is all about - helping each other get their questions answered.

No Flaming
Absolutely no aggressive, personal attacks on anyone because of a disagreement with their point of view will be tolerated. Flaming is a cheap shot and is an immature & unintelligent way of getting back at another poster by simply being mean-spirited. It is typically used in lieu of intelligent, logical discussion because the flamer is incapable of any intelligent or logical thought, so they fall back on personal attacks. Again, it will not be tolerated in the LogjamForum. Any post containing this sort of dialog will be either edited or deleted totally.

No Blatant Manufacturer Bashing
This forum is intended to be a very "manufacturer diverse" community. That is, many different devices from many different manufacturers will be discussed here. So, while intelligent, rational discussion of the pros and cons of each manufacturer's devices are welcome and expected, blatant manufacturer bashing in general terms will not be tolerated. Words or statements that are derogatory to a manufacturer are not appreciated by the owners and users of the slighted manufacturer, and serve no purpose other than to inflame the discussion. If you have actually installed two or more devices from different manufacturers that are suppose to provide the same function, your experience and your opinions comparing the performance of each manufacturer's device are welcome. However, "xyz manufacturer sucks" is not the appropriate way to state your opinion and those types of posts will be edited or deleted.

No Trolling
Posts obviously designed to attract flames or otherwise incite other posters to react negatively and aggressively will not be tolerated. We are all in the LogjamForum for one common goal - to seek accurate, non-partisan information and we do not need to try to bait or trap each other. Doing so is a waste of time, space, and bandwidth and those types of posts will be edited or deleted.

No Profanity
Absolutely no profanity in the LogjamForum, please. Not everyone wants to read foul or off-color language, and those who do not should not have to be subjected to it. This includes attempts to circumvent the word censor or any other form of word ma5k1ng. These types of posts will be edited or deleted.

No Multiple Accounts
Users registering multiple times with multiple usernames are forbidden at LogjamForum. This serves only divisive or deceptive purposes, neither of which is welcomed at LogjamForum. Users known to have multiple accounts will be closed and identified as belonging to the user who opened them, and the user may be banned altogether.

No Cross-Posting
Please do not start more than one topic in the same or different forums with the same question or message. Even if your topic's subject spans multiple subjects, please pick the most appropriate single forum, and start your topic there ONLY. Starting multiple topics with the same question or message is confusing, splits up the discussion / answers and makes the moderators' jobs much harder. Please resist all temptation to cross post. The Moderators will lock duplicate threads as soon as they see them so please do not cross-post.

Excessive and Unnecessary Posting
Posting just to raise your post count (aka post-whoring) - will not be tolerated in any form. If you think you will get more respect having more posts, you are mistaken. If an Admin or Moderator sees that you are abusing your account in this manner, your post count will be zeroed.

Copyright & Public Domain
All information, including text, graphics and images, contained in any and all posts within the LogjamForum, become the property of Logjam Electronics and is protected under US copyright laws, except where posted material carries pre-existing copyright protection. It is the responsibility of the posted content's author to identify copyright protected material.

In Conclusion
Your cooperation and adherence to the above guidelines and suggestions is greatly appreciated. Doing so will insure that the LogjamForum will be the best place on the Internet for information sharing and problem solving. See you in the forums!
